Smart Equipment for Sustainable Agriculture

Tom Murphy attended the the European Parliament for a Workshop and dinner debate entitled “Smart Equipment for Sustainable Agriculture”.
This event was hosted by Anthea McIntyre, MEP in the presence of European Commissioner for Agriculture, Phil Hogan.
High-level representatives from European Institutions, from farmers’ organisations, many Members of the European Parliament and industry leaders discussed the question of what the EU can do to support farmers and technology providers to tackle the challenges ahead.

Tom Murphy once again highlighted to the meeting the importance of agricultural contractors in bringing smart farming to a wider range of farmers and also the questions of grants being available to professional agricultural contractors as well as to farmers. commissioner Hogan acknowledged the important role that agricultural contractors play in providing essential services to farmers.
