Slurry Spreading Deadline Extended
Because of the poor weather conditions of recent months an extension has been granted to the time frame within which slurry can be spread.  Wednesday 15th was to have been the last day slurry could be legally spread, but spreading can now continue until the end of October.

Please still be aware that to comply with environmental regulations, chemical fertilisers, livestock manure, soiled water or other organic fertilisers cannot be spread under the following when

  • land is waterlogged.
  • land is flooded, or it is likely to flood.
  • land is frozen, or covered with snow
  • Heavy rain is forecast within 48 hours.  It is advised to check the weather forecast prior to spreading at www.met.ie
