COVID-19

PAC Ireland is in communication with the Department of Agriculture pressing them to include agricultural contractors who have to self-isolate or who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the social welfare support package. PAC Ireland have also contacted the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection in this regard. It has been confirmed that this virus can live on surfaces for a significant amount of time and that includes surfaces that agricultural contractors come into contact with every day, such as gates, doors, machinery etc. PAC Ireland encourages contractors to heed Government advice to protect themselves, their families, their clients and indeed the general public, by avoiding social gatherings, practising social distancing, good hand hygiene and keeping your hands away from your face.
