Embrace FARM – Remembrance Service – 28th June 2015

Tom Murphy attended the 2nd Annual National Remembrance Service for people killed on farms across the thirty two counties. This was held at The Church of the Most Holy Rosary in Abbeyleix on Sunday 28th June. Brian and Norma Rohan, the Board of Embrace FARM and helpers are to be congratulated on a poignant and inclusive service. In attendance was the Taoiseach’s Aide de Camp, Ministers for Agriculture in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, Simon Coveney and Michelle O’Neill along with Charlie Flanagan Minister for Foreign Affairs. Although this was a difficult day for those who had suffered the loss of a loved one it was important that the impact on those left behind was recognised. Embrace FARM is there to support bereaved families and let them know they are not alone in their journey. Embrace FARM can be contacted at www.embracefarm.com

“I spent my life in furrows and fields
Working and tilling the land
Observing the beauties created
By God’s almighty hand.
I have touched the richness of the soil
I’ve born the wind and sun on my face
And I would choose this life and this land
Over any other place”.
